Soaps Ratings Roundup: August 16

Coronation Street was the most-watched soap yesterday evening, according to overnight data.

At 7.30pm, Nick's candid talk with Leanne was seen by 8.13m (39%), then an hour later 8.37m (36.6%) saw Natasha's abortion woes.

EastEnders attracted 8.04m (34.9%) for Peggy's disturbing discovery. BBC Three claimed a further 972k (4.8%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale pulled in 6.24m (32.5%) for ITV1 at 7pm, losing almost 600k week-on-week, dented by Jason Manford and Alex Jones's One Show debut.

Hollyoaks held a fairly impressive 1.24m (7.1%) for Channel 4, then E4's first look had 437k (2.3%) at 7pm.

Elsewhere, Neighbours appealed to 1.21m (9.9%), and Doctors averaged 1.49m (20.3%)
