Sanderson speaks about life after Corrie

Nikki Sanderson has revealed that she is looking for a new role to showcase her talents after quitting Coronation Street.

The actress left the soap earlier this year after playing hairdresser Candice Stowe for six years.

"I'm in the big wide world now. Leaving something as prestigious as Coronation Street is difficult and I do think it was a brave thing to do - because I could have stayed in the Street," Nikki told the Sunday Mirror.

"I absolutely adore the show - everything to do with it, the people, the place. It was just a case of wanting to spread my wings and try something new - whether it is in theatre or on TV.

"I've already had a couple of auditions. One I didn't get, but the other I'm waiting to hear back on. So fingers crossed."
