Rick Springfield makes 'General Hospital' return

Neurosurgeon Dr Noah Drake is about to return to long-running soap opera General Hospital after spending two decades away.

80s pop star Rick Springfield will return after a 22-year absence to portray Dr Drake in a returning role.

His character is urgently needed to operate on a patient with severe brain damage, but turns out to be an alcoholic and not quite as "dreamy" as he used to be.

Springfield's storyline was only meant to run for a few days, but amidst a growing buzz on messageboards and fan websites, his stay has been extended.
