Soaps Ratings Roundup: August 31

EastEnders was easily the most-watched soap on Tuesday evening, according to overnight data.

7.92m (39%) watched Sam give birth on BBC One at 7.30pm, along with an impressive 983k (5%) on BBC Three at 10pm.

Away from Albert Square, 6.2m (33.1%) caught Emmerdale at 7pm, while Holby City notched up 5.67m (25.2%) an hour later.

Hollyoaks rose to 1.09m (6.6%) after a disappointing Bank Holiday Monday rating. E4's first look grabbed 460k (2.5%).

Elsewhere, more tension in Neighbours appealed to just 961k (7.9%), and Doctors averaged 1.34m (20.8%).
