EastEnders shed viewers as it faced heavy competition from ITV's coverage of England's first Euro 2012 qualifying match last Friday.

Stacey and Becca's showdown attracted 6.64m (28.7%), then BBC Three's repeat added 1.05m (5.4%) at 10pm.

Nathan and Natasha's panic over Maisie in Emmerdale was seen by 6.2m (34.3%).

Neighbours could only muster 906k (7.5%), while an afternoon screening of Doctors - 'Hanging On' - appealed to 1.4m (22.2%).

Elsewhere, Channel 4 registered 937k (5.7%) for Hollyoaks, while E4's first look added 364k (2%) at 7pm.
