Actress Vicky Entwistle was ditched three months ago as part of a cast clearout that also spelt the end for Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) and factory worker Jessie (Nailah Cumberbatch).
"The new producer has talked to Vicky Entwistle and asked if she would like to stay with the programme," said a Corrie spokesperson. "Janice is a very popular character, but ultimately it was the producer's own decision to keep her on, prompted by the great new storylines the character can play out."
