Emmerdale managed nearly 7.8m for its standalone midweek episode, according to the latest audience data.

Airing at 7pm, 7.77m (35.2%) watched Natasha Wylde being sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her husband, ranking as the serial's highest Wednesday rating since February.

Elsewhere, a Brendan-centred Hollyoaks nabbed 1.11m (5.2%), and 431k (2%) turned up for E4's first look at 7pm, while the latest episode of Doctors, titled 'Bon Vomage', took 1.6m (21.8%).

As the aftermath of Ringo's death continued, Neighbours grabbed 862k (11.7%) for its afternoon showing, and 1.58m (9.6%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 305k (4.1%) and 856k (4.3%), before Fiver's first look fetched a respectable 582k (2.7%) at 6.30pm.
