Coronation Street was comfortably the most-watched soap on Friday evening, according to the latest audience data.

Nick and Leanne's risktaking at 7.30pm attracted 9.11m (40.7%), after which Charlotte's crazy demands on John were witnessed by 8.79m (36.7%) an hour later.

EastEnders pulled in 8.32m (35.7%) for an episode centred around Ian and Jane's marriage, then a further 513k (2.3%) watched BBC Three's repeat at 10pm.

Elsewhere, the latest Emmerdale instalment - which saw Nathan depart from Home Farm - notched up 7.37m (34.7%), and daytime drama Doctors averaged 1.67m (21.6%) for an episode titled 'I Know What You Did Last Night'.

Meanwhile, the latest twist in Ste and Brendan's Hollyoaks story was seen by 1.14m (5.4%), before E4's first look grabbed 438k (2.1%).

Libby's pledge to Steph in Neighbours appealed to 720k (9.3%) at lunchtime and 1.41m (8.5%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away fetched respective audiences of 320k (4.3%), 820k (4.1%), and 463k (2.2%) for Fiver's first look at 6.30pm.
