Coronation Street attracted more viewers as the Peter and Leanne story reached its conclusion, early viewing figures indicate.

At 7.30pm, 10.06m (42.2%) watched as Leanne prepared to leave Weatherfield (+1: 99k), then 9.77m (38.7%) returned an hour later to see the pair romantically reconcile at the train station (+1: 145k).

Emmerdale also posted high ratings, as Jimmy and Kelly's disastrous meeting was seen by 8.24m (37%) at 7pm (+1: 58k).

EastEnders pulled in 8.41m (34.7%) as Whitney's problems mounted. The serial added a further 821k (4.1%) on BBC Three.

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks took 1.15m (5.4%) at 6.30pm (+1: 42k), after which E4's first look grabbed 435k (2.1%) at 7pm (+1: 47k).

Elsewhere, Neighbours managed 835k (9.6%) at 1.45pm and 1.37m (8%) at 5.30pm, while Doctors achieved 1.8m (21%) for an edition titled 'Teenage Kicks', and Home and Away took 874k (4.5%) at 6pm and 594k (2.8%) for Fiver's first look.
