The former Hear'Say singer arrives in Weatherfield this month as Michelle, a singer who joins Vernon Tomlin's band and stirs up things between him and girlfriend Liz McDonald (Beverly Callard). Marsh's part is initially for four episodes only but if the character proves popular, she could join the show on a regular basis.
"I'm really hoping I can become another Karen McDonald, a likeable lady but with a serious attitude," said Marsh. "I was brought up on the antics of Bet Lynch and her brassy behaviour. Now I think I can combine the brashness of both those ladies."
