Baldwin death boosts Corrie audience
Extra fans flocked to watch Coronation Street for Mike Baldwin's death.

More than 12 million watched the legend's last episode – a million more than the show's usual audience.

The soap claimed a 58% share of television watchers, with a peak of 12.6 million tuning in.

An ITV1 spokeswoman said: "This was a historic moment in the Street's history and we are delighted that so many viewers tuned in to bid Mike Baldwin farewell."

Johnny Briggs, who played Mike, had been on the soap for 30 years, making him one of its longest serving actors.
