Former Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson is claiming Job Seeker's Allowance.
The actor, who played Jim McDonald on the soap, has been claiming £57.45 a week after finishing touring in a play.
"I've just finished a year-and-a-half on the road two weeks ago," Lawson told The People. "I'm the same as every other actor - I sign on between jobs. I had two weeks off at Christmas and went to the Maldives and had a fabulous time. Like any other actor I sign on between jobs because I've paid so much national insurance.
"It's income-based Job Seeker's Allowance. If you want to take a picture of me signing on you are more than welcome. I've got three documentaries starting next month so you can run whatever you want. I had a f***ing brilliant year so I am delighted to be f***ing resting."
