Windsor confident about Soap Awards
Barbara Windsor has spoken about EastEnders' chances at the British Soap Awards next Saturday.

The actress, who plays Peggy Mitchell, is confident that the soap will be able to build on its success at the recent BAFTA awards.

"Corrie and Emmerdale both have great storylines. And Holby and Casualty are great," Windsor told the Sunday Mirror. "But I think we have what it takes.

"The Soap Awards are fabulous because you are there with all your friends and it's like one big family. Of course there is rivalry but it's all very friendly and good-natured."

Windsor added that she loves being back on the show following her battle against the Epstein-Barr virus.

"It's great being back," she explained. "Sometimes you come in and there are all these new faces and you read the script and you think, 'Who's that?' And the storylines - you can't get on without rumpty-tumpty stuff. It's all got to be sensational. But I think it's great for the show."
