Corrie star Peters is happy with her size
Coronation Street star Wendi Peters has insisted that she is happy with her figure.

The actress, who plays Cilla Battersby-Brown on the show, admitted that she was hurt after a showbiz agent insulted her size when she took part in Soapstar Superstar earlier this year.

"I made a promise to average women everywhere that I'd always stay true to the real me," she told the Sunday Mirror. "And that's the way I'll stay - even though, for a while, my self-confidence took one hell of a knock."

After belting out The Lady Is A Tramp on the ITV reality show, judge Billy Sammeth told Peters that she should "know to cover up".

"I was hurt and very shocked, and that's why the tears came. Then I was furious. He was just insulting for the sake of being insulting," she explained.

"I'd agreed to do the show because I didn't believe it was going to be in the style of Pop Idol or X Factor. I thought it would be the opportunity to have fun and show people what else I could do to entertain."
