Also on BBC One, Holby City grabbed 5.19m (23.6%) in the 8pm hour for the episode 'One of those Days', featuring Malick's dilemma between his career and his conscience.
Emmerdale was watched by 6.44m (33.2%) on ITV1 from 7pm and 212k (1%) on +1, as Amy was left mortified after Jared told Alex, Victoria and Zak about her past.
Elsewhere, Hollyoaks appealed to 1.15m (6.4%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, before E4's first look at the next episode mustered 417k (2.2%) from 7pm and 132k (0.6%) on +1.
Earlier in the day, Doctors entertained 1.67m (21.2%) on BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 606k (7.7%) on Channel 5. The Aussie drama's repeat screening was watched by 1.13m (8.3%) from 5.30pm.
