'Coronation Street' leads soap ratings with Tyrone, Kirsty double bill

Coronation Street topped the soap ratings on Friday night (May 4) with over 8 million viewers, according to the latest overnight data.

Kirsty's sorrow after hitting Tyrone pulled in 8.25m (37.8%) at 7.30pm (+1: 146k), after which Tyrone's struggle to forgive his violent girlfriend took 8.24m (34.8%) an hour later at 8.30pm (+1: 202k).

EastEnders logged 7.17m (31.6%) for BBC One at 8pm. BBC Three's repeat had 584k (3%). The EastEnders Omnibus, airing at midnight, was watched by 362k (8.1%).

Emmerdale delivered 6.35m (32.5%) to ITV at 7pm, adding 104k on timeshift.

Channel 4's latest Hollyoaks mustered 818k (4.4%) at 6.30pm, then E4's first look had 365k (1.9%) half an hour later.

Neighbours grabbed 679k (8.7%) at 1.45pm and 864k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away claimed 676k (3.8%) and an impressive 536k (2.9%) for 5*'s first look.

Doctors averaged 1.5m (19.3%) for an episode titled 'Blackeyes'.
