Diana Ross has ruled out an appearance on Desperate Housewives, laying to rest speculation.

The veteran singer told Stella magazine that she has "never been approached by the people on Desperate Housewives about a part." Rumours were rife that Ross was in discussions with producers over a cameo in the hit TV show.

Ross, whilst best known for her singing career as both a solo artist and as part of The Supremes, has taken on a handful of acting roles in the last four decades. Most notably, she portrayed Billie Holiday in 1972 film Lady Sings The Blues, receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. She also starred as Dorothy alongside Michael Jackson in 1978's The Wiz.
