'The Bill' "legs and feet" sequence recalled

The ITV police drama originally ran its credits over the walking legs of two police officers, an ending for which it became renowned. Now, as a New Year heralds a new series, producers are looking to recreate the feel of the original credits, although they will not copy it exactly.
Executive producer Johnathan Young recalled: “The original title credits had great visual impact when introduced for the very first episode 22 years ago, but we’ve really worked on a whole new, up-to-date look for the titles. We’ve incorporated a much wider view of police work to reflect the diversity of 21st Century policing, whilst remaining true to the heritage and history of show, interspersed with fantastic shots of London.”
The new credits will debut in tonight's episode of The Bill.
