'Housewives' Bree to film scenes from home

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross will film scenes for the hit show from home after being ordered to rest by doctors.

The actress, who plays Bree Hodge, is expecting twins with husband Tom Mahoney. Her character will not be pregnant on the show and will instead be written out of the third season in upcoming episodes, before returning for the fourth season later this year.

A spokeswoman for Cross confirmed that she had been confined to her home in west Los Angeles as "a precautionary measure" and would be filming her final scenes from there.

"They are painting the walls, moving in props and furniture from the set," a source told TV Guide. "They're basically making Marcia's house into Bree's."
