Corrie hits peak ratings for two years
Coronation Street registered its highest ratings in two years on Monday night.

The first episode of the night, in which Tracy Barlow killed Charlie Stubbs, averaged 12.3 million viewers. The same number returned for the second instalment a half hour later, when Barlow was charged with Stubbs' murder. The peak audience of the two episodes was 13.1 million.

In comparison, Monday night's episode of EastEnders attracted only 9.4 million viewers.
