New 'Neighbours' star thanks Dannii for role

New Neighbours star Benjamin Hart has revealed that he has Dannii Minogue to thank for his role on the show.

The former Hollyoaks actor admitted that close friend Dannii was responsible for him getting an agent in Australia - and he was snapped up by the soap's producers soon afterwards.

"I've been to Australia a few times with Dannii and kept saying to her next time I am here I will definitely see an agent," Hart told the Sunday Herald Sun. "I was here with her in December and this time madame totally orchestrated it. She marched me to her agent.

"I was due to fly out that day back to London, but on my way to the airport I went to see Jan Russ [Neighbours' casting boss] and within 10 minutes of leaving her office, they called and offered me the part.

"I never would have thought when I grew up watching Neighbours in my teenage years that I would end up walking around Ramsay St. I do feel very blessed."

Hart will join the show within the next month. He is the first of several new faces arriving on Ramsay Street to replace departing cast members.
