Corrie actress hires security after threats

Coronation Street actress Kate Ford has been forced to hire a bodyguard, following recent reaction to her on-screen storyline.

Ford, who plays on-trial murder suspect Tracy Barlow, was branded a "murderer" and told to "rot in hell" as she arrived in Bradford to film her latest scenes.

“Some fans have been getting a bit over-excited, shouting things at her," a show insider told The Sun. “One woman screamed, ‘You murdering b***h’ and Kate was quite rattled. Bosses decided she could do with some tighter security just in case anyone does anything silly.”

The storyline has two possible endings, both of which were filmed yesterday, with the trial verdict scheduled to be screened on April 2.
