Two familes are to be axed in ITV soap Emmerdale, it has been confirmed today.
The Reynolds and the Daggerts will leave the village over the coming months, although exactly what storylines will bring about their exits are not yet known.
The cull includes the characters Angie Reynolds (Freya Copeland), son Marc (Anthony Lewis), father-in-law Len (Peter Martin), Cynthia Daggert (Kay Purcell), daughter Latisha (Danielle Henry) and son Danny (Cleveland Campbell).
"It was a very tough decision to make because we have always been delighted with the actors concerned and couldn't fault any of their performances during their time with the show," said Emmerdale producer Steve Frost. "But in storyline terms, we feel that their characters cannot develop any further."
Angie's other daughter, Ollie Reynolds -- played by Vicky Binns -- will remain in the soap.
