Mark Fowler will leave Albert Square next month after trying to rape his wife Lisa.

In an episode airing on September 10, Phil Mitchell thumps Mark in the Queen Vic and taunts him about his affair with Lisa, according to today's News Of The World.

A drunken Mark then returns home and tells Lisa that he should be more like Phil and tries to rape her. The cries of baby Louise in the background brings him to his senses and he stops.

The following day, Lisa -- shook up because she almost had unproected sex with Mark -- turns to Phil and asks him to fetch Louise from the Fowler house.

A distraught and confused Mark confesses all to his mum Pauline and decides that the best thing to do is leave the Square.

Actor Todd Carty has now filmed his final scenes on the BBC soap and is enjoying a two-month break in France with his fiancée and their two children.
