Take the High Road will return to screens from tomorrow on Life One.

It has bought up 100 episodes of the 1980s and 90s soap which it will run first on Thursdays at 3pm and 7pm then repeat at the same times through the week.

The channel said it had taken shows starting at episode 1,000 and would buy more if they were popular.

"Having launched Life One on July 23, 2007 we are still building our viewer base," said channel spokeswoman Julie Bertram.

"By adding highly regarded classics, such as Take the High Road, to our spring slate of programmes we will attract the programme's loyal fan base, further increasing our daytime and early evening viewership."

Life One has also bought four series of 1990s show Doctor Finlay, starring David Rintoul and Annette Crosby, which it is airing at 8pm on weeknights with an omnibus on Sundays from 3pm.
