Tracy Shaw to leave the Street
Published Friday, Sep 20 2002, 18:37 BST | By James Welsh
Tracy Shaw is to leave Coronation Street after seven years appearing in the hit ITV soap.
No details are yet available as to how the actress' character, Maxine, will be written out - but she so far hasn't appeared on the hit list of the Street's resident killer, Richard Hillman.
Corrie's Kieran Roberts told BBC News: "Maxine has been a hugely popular character for the show and, while we are sorry to see her go, we fully understand Tracy's desire to try her hand at other things."
