Alice Barlow: 'Louis said I have style'

Hollyoaks actress Alice Barlow has revealed that she walked away from an audition with Louis Walsh with a glowing review from the X Factor judge.

The 18-year-old, who plays newcomer Rae on the Channel 4 soap, won singing competition The Stobart Factor last year.

Speaking about her brush with Walsh, who judged the contest, Barlow said: "He gave me really positive comments. He was like, 'You're very, very good'. And he said I had style."

The star eventually won £10,000 in the competition, which she put towards an Invisalign brace to straighten her teeth.

"[The cost] depends on how bad your teeth are. Mine was pretty expensive but I'm nearly finished with the course. It's worked a treat," she admitted.

The teenager, whose part in Hollyoaks is her first major role, also affirmed that she wants to pursue both singing and acting, adding: "I always like to challenge myself."
