Soap fans want 'Sharon' back in 'Enders

Strictly Come Dancing star Letitia Dean has been voted as the person viewers would most like to return to a soap for Christmas.

In the poll conducted by Inside Soap magazine, readers said that Dean's EastEnders character Sharon Rickman is the one they would most like to see turn up for a shocking Christmas Day twist.

Dean is currently competing in BBC1 dance contest Strictly Come Dancing.

The survey also found EastEnders baddie Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) to be the man they would most like to snog under the mistletoe.

Meanwhile the Queen Vic was deemed the best venue to hold a work Christmas party, beating Coronation Street's Rovers Return and Hollyoaks pub of choice Dog In the Pond.

Editor of Inside Soap Steven Murphy said: "From snogging Sean Slater under the mistletoe to whooping it up with Peggy in The Vic, it seems that soap characters would be as welcome a dinner guest this Christmas Day as any of our own family.

"Once again, it seems all the nice girls love a bad boy, with Sean Slater heading the snog-ability league, just as Grant Mitchell did during the nineties. And as for Sharon returning to Walford on Christmas Day - well, stranger things have happened in soap!

"Let's hope she takes that Strictly Come Dancing 100-watt smile with her - that'll certainly brighten up the Square's celebrations."
