POTD: Lexi collapses in 'Emmerdale'
Published Tuesday, Jun 30 2009, 09:00 BST | By Kris Green
Lexi King (Sally Oliver) causes concern among the factory staff when she turns up for work a little worse for wear, but they presume she's still a little tipsy from the night before.
However, they're panicked when she collapses and hits the deck. Her husband Carl (Tom Lister) is quickly informed of the incident, while his wife's rushed to hospital.
When they arrive, Carl's devastated to learn that Lexi's suffered an ectopic pregnancy which requires Lexi to undergo emergency surgery.
How will Lexi cope with the tragic loss of her baby? And how will Carl cope with the guilt that he never wanted a baby with her in the first place?
Speaking of the plot, Oliver said: "[Lexi]'s just devastated. She's all over the place because she's still really drowsy from surgery and can't bear how bad she feels. There's a line she says a few days afterwards saying 'my heart has dried up and died'."
She added: "Lexi thinks that she could have done something different to prevent it. But she’s not thinking rationally at all and blames herself. She believes that it’s something she’s done to make this happen."

Emmerdale airs tonight at 7pm on ITV1.
