Healy: 'Emmerdale plot was ludicrous'
Former Emmerdale star Matt Healy has admitted that he found one of his own soap plots "ludicrous".

The actor's character Matthew King and his family lost a fortune in 2006 when Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) left the village with £2 million of their cash.

In the aftermath of the extortion incident, Matthew failed to pursue Cain and was killed off months before the Dales villain returned earlier this year.

Commenting on how the events played out, Healy told PA: "I thought it was ludicrous that Matthew never went after Cain. He nicked two million quid off him. There's no way he would have forgotten about that!"

He added: "Jeff and I got on really well and always used to say we should have done more together. I always saw Cain working for Matthew, with Cain being the muscle and doing the stuff Matthew King didn't want to dirty his hands with. I thought they would have been a great team together.

"They were both evil gits, but one was obviously a bit brighter than the other."

Healy announced his decision to quit Emmerdale in August last year. He is currently starring in a touring production of The Tart and the Vicar's Wife.
