James Sutton backs Corrie star for award
Emmerdale star James Sutton has revealed that he will be supporting Coronation Street's Craig Gazey at the National Television Awards.

The 26-year-old actor, who plays Ryan Lamb in the Yorkshire-based drama, confirmed that he would like Gazey to win the most popular newcomer prize if he doesn't bag the title himself.

Sutton told PA: "If not me, I'd quite like Craig Gazey to win. He plays Graeme [Proctor] in Coronation Street - he's a very dear friend of mine, so obviously I'd be thrilled to bits if he won it."

He added: "Just to be nominated is really good. I had a look online the other day and the calibre of people up against me is quite high as well. I'm not expecting to win."

The National Television Awards will be held in January 2010. Dermot O'Leary has already been confirmed as host.

Sutton has previously said that he wants to see Gazey appearing in Emmerdale in the future.
