Siân Reeves gets hassle over soap plot
Siân Reeves has revealed that she gets confronted in the street over the behaviour of her Emmerdale character Sally Spode.

Crazed Sally is an old flame of vicar Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) and has caused nothing but trouble for his relationship with show favourite Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) since arriving in the village earlier this year.

Last month, viewers saw Sally's schemes taking a disturbing new twist as she set the local church alight, trapping Laurel inside. Following a dramatic rescue, Laurel has remained suspicious of the newcomer's motives.

Speaking to Inside Soap about fans' reactions to the storyline, Reeves revealed: "People in the street are quite rude to me at times - some viewers have been telling me to leave Ashley and Laurel alone and even calling me a horrible cow."

She added: "It's really in your face, and I have to explain to them that I'm just playing a part. It's lonely being a baddie."

Reeves has previously said that she would like Sally to commit suicide at the end of the plot.
