Ogbourne praises twisted 'Emmerdale' plot
Emmerdale star Lyndon Ogbourne has revealed that he is thrilled to be exploring his character's dark side in his current storyline.

The actor's alter ego Nathan Wylde will next week be seen attacking his father's first wife Faye Lamb (Kim Thomson) after misreading her efforts to comfort him as a come-on. His sinister behaviour follows previous attempts to manipulate Leyla Harding (Roxanne Ghawam-Shahidi) with a blackmail plot.

In an interview with DS, Ogbourne confirmed that he is happy to be playing a menacing figure and particularly enjoying Nathan's scenes with half-brother Ryan Lamb (James Sutton).

Ogbourne explained: "This is what I love. The way it's worked over the last few weeks, which I'm quite chuffed about, is they're creating this disgusting character in Nathan and this Mr Nice Guy in Ryan - he's Prince Charming on the back of a horse riding in at every opportunity!

"It makes me laugh reading the scripts. They basically fancied creating this dark and evil and then this shining hero. I'm so glad to be the dark and nasty one! It's like Cain and Abel, which is what I love."

In a further twist in next week's episodes, Nathan will be seen trying to blackmail mum Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) after she tells him that she killed his father Mark.

On the long-term implications of Nathan's dramatic week, Ogbourne added: "What comes up over the next few months is just horrific - some of the stuff that goes on - you really see a dark and evil side of Nathan. It's horrible."
