Dales star Wheeler has 'gossiping mum'

Emmerdale star Nicola Wheeler has admitted that she does not tell her mother about upcoming storylines in case she "blabs".

The actress, who plays Nicola De Souza on the serial, revealed that all of her mum's work friends watch the ITV soap.

She told Inside Soap: "I never tell her what's coming up for Nicola because I know she'd accidentally spill the beans. Everyone she works with watches the show.

"I'm convinced she'd blab by accident if I told her anything. When any of her pals ask, she never knows what Nicola is up to, as I've told her nothing."

Wheeler also spoke of her joy at being an on-screen mother, saying: "I've been lucky as Rebecca, who plays little Angelica, is absolutely brilliant. She's normally really good. Naturally being a baby, she might have a little cry now and again, but that's about it. But just watch her - she steals every scene she's in."

She added: "But I'm not broody because I can enjoy the lovely side of having a child around without having to deal with nappies."
