Dales actresses joke over fight scenes

Emmerdale actress Charlotte Bellamy has revealed that she has been joking with co-star Siân Reeves over their heated fight scenes.

The tension between the pair's characters Laurel Thomas and Sally Spode will intensify over the next few weeks after scheming Sally claims that she is expecting a baby with Laurel's husband Ashley (John Middleton).

While filming some of the most fiery moments, Bellamy penned a diary for the Yorkshire Evening Post which appears in the newspaper today.

In one entry, the soap star quips: "8am: First scene, just a simple, low key one - breaking into a flat and rage-fuelled fight scene with Siân Reeves which eases us into the day nicely…"

Later, she adds: "10.30am: Instant coffee break and seven custard creams (can you ever have too many?) later we return to another fight scene.

"Taunted by Siân all morning that she is the strongest and could have me any day, so I decide to settle dispute in time-honoured fashion - arm-wrestling for money. I am not one to gloat but, suffice to say, coffee is on Siân for the rest of the week."

In a climactic moment due to air in April, Laurel and Sally will be seen fighting on a balcony after the situation reaches boiling point.

Reflecting on filming those scenes, Bellamy remarked: "Have never really appreciated how good Leeds looks upside down as we are both suspended from a balcony six floors up. Siân keeps telling me that I am ACTUALLY pulling her hair!"
