Emmerdale star Lyndon Ogbourne has revealed that he will be filming his final scenes for the soap this week.

In August, the actor announced that he was bowing out of the show after nearly two years in the role of twisted Nathan Wylde.

Writing on Twitter last night, Ogbourne commented: "I'm chilled and ready for my final week filming Emmerdale, full of every emotion you could name - but mostly excitement and sadness!

"I've had the most amazing time EVER!! I'll never forget playing and bringing to life Nathan Wylde! Thank you all for your support - let my final week commence!"

Later, he added: "So proud of all your comments of support about my final week ahead - I love being involved in Emmerdale and I enjoy playing Nathan so much, but I have to follow my heart and ambition."

Ogbourne has previously said that "personal ambition and excitement for future projects" sparked his decision to leave the long-running drama.

The 27-year-old's screen family members Amanda Donohoe (Natasha), Alice Coulthard (Maisie) and Oscar Lloyd (Will) are also departing the programme.
