Dominic Brunt and Mark Charnock have revealed that they would love it if their Emmerdale characters had a spinoff.

The pair, who play Paddy Kirk and Marlon Dingle in the ITV soap, told Bang Showbiz what their ideal plot would be.

"I'd love our own spinoff where we become detectives," Charnock said.

Brunt added: "They'd move to New York."

Charnock admitted that he would like to see the pair get more attention from females.

"There would be some sort of cultural shift whereby Marlon and Paddy actually become accepted as the good-looking norm," he said. "There would be this massive change in public perception."

Brunt also confessed that he wished writers had not mentioned that Paddy's father was dead because he knows who would be perfect for the role.

"Paddy's father wasn't in the soap but he's dead, he committed suicide," he said. "I'd love to see Christopher Biggins as a father for Paddy, though, he'd be perfect."
