The actor has already filmed his last scenes as the village bad boy, who is currently trying to sell Home Farm following his mum Natasha's arrest for murder.
Speaking to the Inside Soap Yearbook 2011 about his final storyline, Ogbourne explained: "Well, Nathan doesn't get killed off, but by the end of it he's managed to turn the whole village against him.
"I'm so excited about these final few weeks because it's Nathan at his most vulnerable, perhaps the most honest he's ever been. So many people finally see him for what he really is, even his own family.
"In a way, it's quite a sad ending for him. It's the dethroning of Nathan, and that should lead people to wonder what he'll be like if he ever comes back."
The 27-year-old has previously said that his decision to leave Emmerdale was influenced by "personal ambition and excitement for future projects".
