Hardwick: 'I'd be sad to see Val, Eric split'

Emmerdale star Charlie Hardwick has revealed that she'd be sad to see her character Val Pollard permanently split from husband Eric.

Val walks out on Eric when his stepson Michael accuses him of murdering his mother Elizabeth, who died in the 1993 plane crash. However, the actress admitted that she hopes their parting isn't forever.

She told Inside Soap: "Personally, I'd be very sad if it was the end of their marriage, because I get along really well with Chris Chittell, who plays Eric.

"If the accusations about him killing Elizabeth are true, he might even be arrested and end up in jail! I just don't know what's going to happen next."

She added: "She wouldn't sit at home wasting her life - she'll find another husband in a fortnight."

Val will confront Eric regarding the allegations on New Year's Eve.
