Emmerdale star Emma Atkins has admitted that she is enjoying her character's current feud with schemer Faye Lamb.

The actress's alter ego Charity Dingle has clashed constantly with Faye (Kim Thomson) in recent weeks, as the feisty personal assistant has been causing mischief by interfering in her relationship with Cain (Jeff Hordley).

Events take a further twist in this week's episodes as Cain sleeps with Faye, determined for revenge as he is under the mistaken impression that Charity is having an affair with her boss Jai Sharma.

Speaking to We Love Telly, Atkins confirmed that Charity is "not at all" pleased when she learns of Cain and Faye's one-night stand.

Discussing Cain's infidelity, she commented: "With her red-headed arch enemy? She hates it! I tell you what, I've loved filming the scenes with Kim Thomson. We really stand up and yell at each other. It's World War Three!"

Asked whether there are more twists ahead, Atkins replied: "Yes, it's all great fun. I love my job acting this kind of thing every day. It's been a pleasure to work with Chris Bisson who plays Jai and, as ever, Jeff Hordley. A real delight."

Kim Thomson recently announced that she is leaving her Emmerdale role after two years with the soap.
