Danny Miller has revealed that he has organised a charity football match as his way of remembering and thanking Gavin Blyth.

Miller told Inside Soap that he felt he owed the late producer, who passed away last year after a short illness, for the opportunities he provided him when he gave him the role of Emmerdale's Aaron Livesy.

He explained: "I wanted to do something in Gavin's memory, and this is my way of giving back to a man who did so much for me. He was highly thought of across the industry."

The 20-year-old has arranged the fundraising event, in which the male members of the Emmerdale cast will take on their Coronation Street counterparts, to take place on February 19 at the Manchester Regional Arena. All donations will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Miller added: "There are so many people dedicating their time to ensure we raise as much money as possible in memory of Gavin and for a great cause."
