Silva: 'Life has been tough for Kelly'

Emmerdale returnee Adele Silva has revealed that times have been tough for her character Kelly Windsor during her time away from the village.

The actress's alter ego will return to her bitchy ways in the coming weeks as she turns ex-fiancé Jimmy King's amnesia to her advantage, trying to convince him that she is the love of his life.

However, in an interview with TV Choice, Silva hinted that there could be revelations to come which will explain Kelly's vicious behaviour.

She explained: "I like playing her because she's so unlike me. I put on clothes and say things I never would in real life, which is a great release. Kelly just doesn't care.

"She's three years older but probably not wiser and has a harder edge because she's been through a difficult time. The reasons will become clear further down the line."

Kelly returned to screens last month as she had a violent showdown with Jimmy in Peterborough. Next week, she makes a reappearance in the village and learns of his unusual condition for the first time.
