Nick Miles: 'Fans are on Team Nicola'

Emmerdale star Nick Miles has admitted that the soap's fans are "appalled" by the behaviour of scheming Kelly Windsor.

Since making a reappearance in the village last month, Kelly has been desperately trying to win back Miles's alter ego Jimmy King - taking advantage of his confused state by falsely claiming that they were having an affair before he began suffering from amnesia.

Kelly (Adele Silva)'s vicious behaviour has left Jimmy's feisty wife Nicola out in the cold as she struggles to keep the upper hand in the strange situation.

However, speaking to Inside Soap about the viewer reaction to the plot, Miles explained: "Everyone thinks Jimmy should be with Nicola - they're appalled by Kelly.

"I've had a lot of people telling me they feel sympathetic to Nicola even though they never, ever thought they could!"

Next week's episodes of the ITV1 show see things get worse for Nicola as clueless Jimmy decides that he wants to be with Kelly.

Miles said: "Kelly and Nicola are still at each other's throats. There's a set-to between them as Nicola realises Jimmy has made his choice. She's outraged and upset, as you'd expect."

Nicola Wheeler, who plays Nicola, recently revealed that she is pleased her character is being portrayed as "the good guy" for once.
