Adele Silva: 'I find it hard to trust people'

Adele Silva has admitted that she has trust issues when it comes to enterting into a relationship.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the Emmerdale actress explained that she worries about potential boyfriends selling their stories to newspapers.

"I do find it hard to trust people," she said. "It crosses your mind: 'Why does this person want to talk to me? Will he go back to his friends and say [he] was with that girl from the television?'.

"I'm really wary with boyfriends because you see so many kiss-and-tells. I don't want my dad to be eating his cornflakes one morning and read about me cavorting."

However, the Kelly Windsor star confessed that she is not looking for love "right now".

"I'm probably too independent," she said. "That might turn a guy off. I think it's intimidating for a guy to meet a strong woman who doesn't need them and has her own career. Some like to be able to look after you."

The 30-year-old was previously in a long-term relationship with Blue star Antony Costa, from whom she split in 2006.
