'Emmerdale' star hints at affair impact

Adam Thomas has predicted that his Emmerdale character Adam Barton will live to regret his upcoming affair with Ella Hart.

Next week's episodes of the ITV1 soap see Ella step up her pursuit of Adam as she makes it clear that she wants a fling with him, leading to the pair sleeping together at Home Farm.

Adam is playing with fire by embarking on the secret romance as he has recently started working for Ella's partner Declan and he is also in a relationship with her daughter Mia.

Speaking to Digital Spy about the possibility that Adam is putting his job at risk, Thomas commented: "He does consider it, but he's not thinking about it as much as he should do.

"But there does come a point in the storyline where it all starts to hit home - there's so much at stake with John trying to buy the farm from Declan, as well as Declan being Adam's boss.

"Adam is playing on really rough territory - his family could lose their business and their home because of this. He'll have to take all of that into consideration and it does all start to come into perspective as time goes on."

The actor continued: "He'll start to wonder how he got himself into this mess and he'll probably want to turn back time and not have gone there. It goes go too far and he'll have to face the consequences."

Corrinne Wicks, who plays Ella, recently described the plot as "a lovely storyline to be given".
