Following Jackson's assisted suicide earlier this week, the village serial has piled on viewers, topping 7m viewers on Wednesday and Thursday, before grabbing 6.56m (35%) at 7pm (+1: 118k) for last night's episode, which
saw a mourning Aaron and Hazel struggle to cope.
Coronation Street topped the soap ratings with 8.49m (41.4%) at 7.30pm (+1: 127k) as Graeme finally revealed to Tina his love for Xin. Some 8.58m (38%) then returned at 8.30pm (+1: 217k) for Tina's reaction.
EastEnders pulled in 7.63m (34.7%) for Tanya's fury at Max on BBC One at 8pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat added 581k (2.9%).
Elsewhere, Hollyoaks managed 815k (4.8%) for Channel 4 at 6.30pm, bouncing back slightly from its low last week. E4's first look grabbed 352k (1.9%) at 7pm.
Earlier in the day, BBC One's Doctors averaged 1.46m (20.8%) for an instalment titled 'Smoke and Flames' at 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 668k (9.6%), adding 1.22m (9.3%) for its 5.30pm repeat.
Home and Away scored 849k (5.4%) at 6pm, following which 449k (2.6%) tuned in for 5*'s first look.
