Emmerdale suffered little damage against the BBC's Children in Need coverage, early viewing figures reveal.

Gennie's increasing doubts over Nicky attracted 6.92m (30.2%) and 117k (0.5%) on ITV1 +1, 400k better than last year, and level week-on-week despite rival The One Show achieving one of its best ever audiences.

Coronation Street's emotional double bill, which saw Lloyd set fire to his sofa and Cheryl leave Weatherfield without Chris, logged 7.74m (31.8%) at 7.30pm and 6.92m (25.9%) at 8.30pm (+1: 129k/0.5%).

Daytime serial Doctors averaged 1.62m (21.9%) at 1.45pm for an episode titled 'Charlie'.

Neighbours and Home and Away put in decent teatime performances, with 1.24m (7.2%) and 1.1m (5.7%) respectively.

Neighbours' earlier showing had picked up 602k (8.1%), while Home and Away added 527k (2.6%) on 5*.

Elsewhere, 1.08m (5.3%) watched Rhys and Jacqui make plans to leave Hollyoaks at 6.30pm, then E4's first look grabbed 505k (2.3%).
