'Emmerdale' Kerry news shared with 5.6m

Emmerdale was the most-watched soap on Wednesday evening (August 1) as the Amy and Kerry storyline continued, overnight figures show.

The ITV1 drama pulled in 5.64m (27.1%) at 7pm as Amy heard that Kerry was in a diabetic coma, adding 218k (1.0%) an hour later on +1.

Amy finds out Kerry is in hospital, but tells Eric and Brenda she does care if her mum lives or dies.

Hollyoaks, meanwhile, attracted 748k (3.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 131k (0.6%) on timeshift as Ash's love life took a twist. E4's first look had 461k (2.2%) at 7pm and 113k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 584k (5.9%) at 1.45pm and 760k (4.9%) at 5.30pm.

On 5*, the latest episodes of 'Home and Away: From Day One' were seen by 236k (1.3%) and 249k (1.3%) at 6pm and 6.30pm respectively.
