The hour-long episode, scheduled to be screened mid-May, reaches its climax in dramatic style as the net closes in on Tom’s sons Jimmy (Nick Miles), Matthew (Matt Healy) and Carl (Tom Lister). The brothers insist they are innocent but in a surprise twist, all will be revealed when the killer finally breaks their silence…
The episode will also feature a much-loved character whose life hangs in the balance after a serious accident as well as very special appearance by operatic superstar Katherine Jenkins, appearing as herself to open the eventful village pageant.
The cat fight to end all cat fights will also leave locals open-mouthed as Katie (Sammy Winward) and Jo (Roxanne Pallett) quite literally rip each other to shreds in the long-awaited village Beauty Contest.
Of her cameo, Katherine Jenkins said: “I’m a huge fan of Emmerdale and so I jumped at the opportunity to appear in the show. I’m really excited about filming my scenes next month.”
Kathleen Beedles said: “We’re really excited about this episode which is bursting with drama, comedy and heartbreak. It’s a fitting climax to the Tom King storyline which has surpassed all our expectations and become one of the greatest soap murder mysteries ever.”
She added: "We're so pleased that the murder mystery storyline has generated so much interest from the online community. The interactive element to the investigation has provided Emmerdale with a fourth dimension and we hope that the users of Digital Spy will tune in for the thrilling conclusion."
