'Emmerdale': 7m see Brenda plot latest on Tuesday

Emmerdale was Tuesday evening's (March 5) most-watched soap on first-run showings as EastEnders was dented by ITV's football coverage, overnight figures show.

Emmerdale pulled in 7.03m (32.9%) at 7pm on ITV as Brenda decided to end her relationship with Bob, adding 107k (0.4%) on +1.

EastEnders attracted 6.95m (29.3%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Lola snatched baby Lexi, airing against the start of the Manchester United vs. Real Madrid game on ITV. However, BBC Three's repeat screening secured 535k (3.7%) at 10.30pm.

Holby City also dropped against the football, taking 4.3m (16.9%) at 8pm on BBC One with an episode titled 'Recovery Position'.

Hollyoaks claimed 912k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as concern mounted over Maxine, while E4's first look had 669k (3.1%) at 7pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours managed 682k (11.6%) at 1.45pm and 998k (6.5%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 753k (4.1%) at 6pm and 502k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.42m (24.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
